Although there is much focus on wine, Howells is not your typical wine bar. The overall feeling and experience are what they have come to call California comfort with surprises. The environment will be lively, filled with energetic music, a right balance of beer and wine choices, a healthy selection of food, and all wrapped in handcrafted interior elements.     Floral and fruity notes with a dry, round, and mineral driven, palate.

    Expressive nose with floral notes and aromas of white peach, well balanced, with a lovely refreshing minerality.

    Heady aromas of black cherry, cassis, and licorice. On the palate ripe blackberry and dusty cocoa with a silky finish.
  • 2020 Chateau David Beaulieu, Bordeaux Blend, France
    Merlot based blend with bold fruit and a nice balance of oak and acidity with a smooth velvety finish.
  • 2021 Ridge Three Valleys Zinfandel Blend, Sonoma
    Nose of toasty oak, strawberry jam, black tea and baking spices, Layered fruit onthe palate with textured tannin.
  • 2019 Troxel Family Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley
    Classy, elegant with silky layers of complexity. Bright acidity, long finish.

  • Quaint, great selection, exceptional service. Howells is such a great wine bar! I love the ambiance and somewhat exclusive and intimate vibe. Howells is on the smaller side, which I personally love. This sweet little wine bar feels refined and sophisticated, full-bodied and well-rounded, yet not too large or overpowering... just how great wine should be!

  • My friends and I were visiting from Texas and stopped in to have a drink. The ambiance is amazing! There is a nice variety of small plates to choose and share with your table and we loved the fondue. The owner and his staff were so welcoming and made sure we were having a good time. The neighborhood seems safe with lots of surrounding things to do. This is a great spot to stop for a drink and socialize.
